Our Silent Hill: Homecoming boss guide contains detailed walkthroughs and strategies on every single boss in the game, including screenshots and videos as well as detailed information on each of them. Please note that there are spoilers in this section.
Info: A brand new boss to the franchise, Scarlet appears to resemble that of a doll. Details on Scarlet are scarce, although it does look as though it will degrade and change forms as you quite literally smash it to pieces.
Strategy:
The Scarlet boss fight can be a challenge, especially how long it can potentially last. When fighting Scarlet you will fight two forms, the large doll creature and the smashed up, more "spider-like" version of herself. The second form is much faster and more difficult to dodge, but with the right plan she can be defeated with relative ease. The weapon we used to defeat her was the Axe. It is slower than the other weapons, but it does do the most damage (especially when you attack with a charged heavy attack) and when she stunned for a few seconds it's more than enough time to get a good charged strong attack or two which is significant enough damage.
As with a lot of fights in the game, dodging is essential. At the start of the fight, dodge some of her attacks or run around a bit to get a feel for her tell before she attacks. In her first form, her attacks will be much more "sloppy" and far slower that what's to come next. She'll do a long swing with her arm and try to knock you down, if you dodge this at the right time you can get in a few quick hits before then needing to run away. There are also times during the fight when she will stop and scream while blood sprays out of her mouth - this is another good time to get in some hits. If you have any ammo for your pistol then this a good time to use it. A few shots is always helpful. We also reccomend smashing her up as much as possible as we assume the game registeres where she isnt and isn't damaged. Once you've dealt enough damage, she will fall on her knees. This is a key moment to hit her with as many (fully) charged heavy attacks with the Axe as possible before she gets up again.
(Tip from BlackMetalBuick: [When she is on her hands and knees] Keep unleashing heavy attacks on her. Eventually she will float up to her feet, but it takes her a couple seconds. As she is getting to her feet, again hold down the strong attack button to charge it up, and then when she is fully stood up, before she has a chance to attack, unleash your strong hit and she'll go right back down to the ground.)
Her second form is much, much faster and a lot harder to dodge. Again, dodging is the key here. We opted to dodge and run around the room without the attack stance, as you can move a lot further a lot faster without being in the battle stance. Scarlet will run around the room pretty quickly, and occationally jump onto the ceiling and dive down at you. If you're quick enough to press the button prompt at the right time you will sucessfully dodge her attack and she will be stunned for a few seconds. Again, unleash some heavy attacks from the Axe and repeat until you're prompted again to stab her in the back and end the fight.
